The historical Licton Springs neighborhood in northern Seattle provides home buyers with an excellent opportunity. Although the Licton Spring was capped in 1920, it can now be found flowing through the grounds at the Licton Springs Park.

This neighborhood places an emphasis on homes for individuals and small families, but there are also larger options available. Like most of this portion of Seattle, the majority of the homes are slightly older, which adds historical flair to the area. Many homes in Licton Springs are moderately priced, which proves very helpful for buyers who are budget conscious. While buyers looking for starter home in the neighborhood may find success in Licton Springs, there are also several options for those who are looking to upgrade from their current living environment. 

Entertainment and Dining in Licton Springs

This area provides everything that residents need to fulfill their entertainment, dining and shopping needs. Nearby Northgate Mall features a diverse blend of national retail and restaurant chains. Those who like spending an entire day shopping will also enjoy having the Oak Tree Village Shopping Center in the area. The neighborhood’s entertainment options include the AMC Theatre, the Taproot Theatre Company and the Seattle Public Theatre. When it is time for dinner, residents have a long list of options available such as the Mandarin Gate, Jade Restaurant and Lounge, Good Guys Pizza, and Burgermaster. 

Recreational Opportunities

In addition to the Licton Springs Park, residents of this area will also have access to the Northgate Community Center and Green Lake Park. Anyone who enjoys spending time on the water will love Green Lake Park, and it is commonly used for boating, fishing and swimming. There is also a 2.8 mile path that goes around the lake, and many Seattle residents utilize this space to jog, walk, bike or rollerblade.  

Annual Events

Just like any other neighborhood that places an emphasis on providing a friendly environment, the community council of Licton Springs organizes several events throughout the year. Two of these events take place on an annual basis, and they have become a tradition that residents look forward to. The Neighborhood Picnic occurs each year during the month of September, and several of the local businesses donate the necessary food and other supplies. On October 31, the neighborhood always hosts the Trick or Treat in the Park event. Children are encouraged to come in costume between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to receive candy and enjoy several jack o’lanterns.  

The Convenience of the Big City

Although Licton Springs has a more relaxed, small-town ambiance it is close enough to downtown Seattle to make the morning commute easy. The downtown area also offers a vast selection of professional sporting events, cultural opportunities and live music.
